Obituary of John Paul Eliff, Jr.

Eliff, John Paul, Jr., passed away at the age of 86, at the Einstein Montgomery Hospital of East Norriton, PA. John was born in Conshohocken, PA on October 6, 1926. Mr. Eliff has been living in Shannondell of Audubon for the last 2 years formerly of East Norriton, PA where he has lived since 1958. He was a very active member of Visitation B.V.M. RC Church for over 50 years. He helped build the new church. His children attended Visitation Grade School. He was very dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary. He attended daily Mass & Rosary. He was a member of the Sodality B.V.M., the Adoration Society. He also sang with OLMC Church Choir in Doylestown, PA. He graduated from St. Matthew's High School Class of 1944, and Villanova University Class of 1962. He served in The Army Air Corps during World War II as a Sargent and received Army Occupation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and World War II Victory Medal. He was a member of Disabled American Veterans Norristown Chapter #25 where he was former treasurer. He worked John Wood Manufacturing as a salesman and Manager, and then with his close friend and business associate the founded Princeton Educational Toy Co. where he served as president and CEO, then president and owner of Norristown Box Co. of Norristown, PA. He was part owner of WNAR Radio Station 1110. He was a member of Ancient Order of Hibernians Notre Dame Division #1. John enjoyed playing Golf and was a longtime member of Highpoint Racquet Club of Chalfont, PA. John was Preceded in death his late wife Helene J. (Quinn) Eliff and his parents John P. Eliff, SR. and Margaret J. (Hoynes) Eliff. Along with his loving wife and parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald F. Eliff. Surviving are 2 daughters, Maureen Eliff (and William) O'Hara, Bozrah, CT, and Helene Eliff (and William) Darmofal, Doylestown, PA and a son, John Paul Eliff, III. Also surviving is a brother, James P. (and Phyllis) Eliff and 6 grandchildren, William John Darmofal, Helene Ann Darmofal, Patrick Michael Eliff, John Paul Eliff, IV., William Arthur O'Hara, and Sean Eliff O'Hara. His funeral mass will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. from Visitation B.V.M. RC Church, 165 North Trooper Road, Norristown, PA. Friends may call (viewing) on Saturday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. at the church. Interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken, PA.
