Obituary of Philip C. Thomas
Sunrise 12/12/1937 – Transition 1/10/2015
In loving memory of a Protector & Warrior
Philip Clark Thomas, first of six children born in Philadelphia, Pa to the late Mary Clark Thomas and William Elmo Thomas, Sr.
Philip accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior at an early age, under the Pastorship of Leon Moore. At Haven Memorial Methodist Church, where he was an Usher, member of the Children's Choir and late the youth choir.
Philip was educated in the Public Schools of Philadelphia. He was a good athlete who enjoyed swimming, running track, boxing and basketball.
In the social arena he was an excellent dancer, singer and enjoyed playing checkers, pinochle and living life FULL.
He served the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. After his stint in the Navy he worked as a forklift driver for many years. During his retirement Philip along with his wife Phyllis were active members of the Clara Baldwin Senior Center. After its closing he joined the North City Congress Senior Center.
When his wife Phyllis past in 2009, Philip moved to Boyertown, Pa, with daughter Tonya and his grandson Nathan.
Philip was predeceased in death by his parents, one daughter, Felicia and one brother Jimmy and his wife the late Phyllis Wayns Thomas.
Left to cherish his memories are his children: Theodore, Tonya, Felicia and Malcolm.
Grandchildren: Koi, Nathan, great grandson Bryce Mims and Devon Mims. Sister, Gwendolyn Hundley, Brothers, William E. Thomas, Jr. & wife Terry & family. Rodger Thomas & wife Doris & family. Sister, Barbara Johnson & husband Albert & family. Cousins, Clark's, Thomas's, Tillery's, Vann's and Thompson's and a host of friends.
