Thomas has lived in Plymouth Meeting since 1964, previously of Lafayette Hill. He was a member of The Church of St. Jude and the Nativity. He was a volunteer fireman since he was 16 years old. Life member of Harmonville Fire Company where he was a Police Captain, Commissioner He was a Vietnam Veteran He was a member of the Fire Police Association, member of PA St. Fireman Association. He was a delegate to the PA Fire Police & Legislative Association. He was the 1974 Fire Policeman of the Year. He recieved a Citation from the PA House of Representatives for his service and also from Montgomery County Commissioners & Gov Tom Ridge and Plymouth Township Council.
