Obituary of Kimberly A. Forrest
Kimberly A. Forrest, age 63, of Collegeville, PA passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by the love of her family in her final moments.
Born in Providence Rhode Island on July 2, 1958, Kimberly was the second child of the late Franklin Forrest and the late Elaine (Dee) Forrest. Growing up in Maryland with her older brother Kevin and younger sister Kerrelee, Kim eventually relocated to the West Coast where she started her career as Surety Bond Underwriter and had her first and only child. Eventually Kim returned to the East Coast and created a loving and supportive home for her son, mother, niece and nephew.
Kim’s zest for life was contagious; she was never one to shy away from singing and dancing, whether at home or in public. She was most alive when around her family, the animals she mothered, or while enjoying the warm surf of the Atlantic Ocean. She was passionate about gardening and being surrounded by nature, feeling the rush of a rollercoaster, witnessing the intrigue of a true crime show, and most of all, reading - which was a constant in her life since childhood.
In her professional career, Kim was not only extremely effective as a Bond Underwriting Manager, she was well known throughout the industry and respected as one of the most knowledgeable and capable in her field. Kim was dedicated to her work and was essential in developing and implementing new programs to assist small businesses - an accomplishment which garnered her the U.S. Small Business Administration Lifetime Impact Award.
She is survived by her devoted son, Austin Buchanan; the daughter of her heart (niece), Amy Silvas; brother, Kevin (Laura) Forrest; cousin, Tammy (Paul) Vincent; grand-nephew, Brandon and grand-niece, Natalie, along with many other loving family members, friends, colleagues, and especially pets. In addition to her parents, Kimberly is preceded in death by her sister, Kerrelee Forrest.
