Obituary of Phyllis H. Reilly

Phyllis H. Reilly  

Phyllis H. (Hitchens) Reilly, 88, of East Norriton, PA passed away Thursday, May 19, 2022. 

She was born in Norristown, Pa on September 12, 1933, the daughter of the late Clarence B. and the late Kathryn (Hallman) Hitchens. 

Phyllis has been living in East Norriton for over 3 years, formerly of Limerick and Schwenksville. 

She grew up in Norristown and graduated from Norristown High School in 1951. She was a member of the Girls Sports Club, Red Cross Club President and was a majorette in the band for 2 years.   Phyllis was involved in athletics playing field hockey, softball and her favorite swimming. She excelled in swimming, capturing District One Championships and PIAA State Championships as a Sophomore, Junior and Senior, both in the 50 and 100 yard freestyle. Phyllis was a basketball coach for Bishop Kenrick High School.  She was a basketball, field hockey and lacrosse official for 25 years.  She officiated the PIAA State Championship basketball game in 1974.  She served 25 years with the National Association for Girls and Women’s sports. 

She was a Homemaker and was a payroll manager at H. Freeman& Sons, Bridgeport, Pa. 

She was the wife of William J. Reilly, Jr for 67 years.  Survivors include Husband William Reilly, Jr. of East Norriton, Son William R. (and Denise) Reilly of Telford, Daughter Ellen K. Reilly of Conshohocken, and her Grandson BJ Reilly. 

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Marian Smith. 

Her Funeral Service will be held Thursday, May 26, 2022 at 10:00 AM from Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 300 Fayette Street, Conshohocken, PA. 

Friends may call on Wednesday Evening, May 25, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday Morning, May 26, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 300 Fayette Street, Conshohocken, PA.   

Interment will follow service in Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken, PA.    

Memorial contributions may be made in Phyllis' memory to the Parkinson Council, 12 West Willow Grove Ave, Philadelphia, Pa 19118.
