Obituary of David James Atkinson

David James Atkinson, age 46, of Philadelphia, PA passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 13, 2022.

He was born in Philadelphia, PA on November 24, 1975, the son of Nancy (Donaghy) Atkinson and the late Dr. Gary Leigh Atkinson.

David has been living in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia for over 7 years, formerly of Lafayette Hill, PA.  He received his Biology degree from Cabrini College and worked as an IT Specialist.   

David had a maverick spirit and had a passion for enjoying his living.  He enjoyed travelling, SCUBA diving, skiing, leisure time on the computer, but above all he enjoyed doing these, if not alone, with the people he loved.  His love and loyalty to his family and his beloved were the core of David's being.  He was known for his sense of integrity, his uncanny humor, his cachinnations, and his craving to be his own person.

He is survived by his mother, Nancy Atkinson of Wilmington, DE; partner and love of his life, Pamela Hill of Roxborough; sister, Jennifer (& Michael) Kelso of Wilmington, DE; brother, Mark Atkinson (& Madeleyne Escobar) of Royersford, PA; three nieces, Kaitlin Atkinson, Alary Kelso and Taran Kelso; a nephew, Christopher Atkinson, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.  

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on October 19, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, followed by his Memorial Service on October 20, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 300 Fayette Street, Conshohocken, PA 19428.  

A catered luncheon will follow the service at a location to be announced.
