Patricia P. Aaron, age 88, of Collegeville, PA passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 1, 2023. She was born on July 31, 1934, the daughter of the late Amos C. and Myrtle (Meekins) Phillips. She was the wife of the late Jennings Bradford (Brad) Aaron, Jr. Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Amos, John, Florence, and Emmett as well as nephew, Steve.
Patsy was born and raised on Hoopers Island, MD. She graduated from Towson Teacher’s College (now University) with a BS in Elementary Education and completed some post-graduate studies at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. She spent her early teaching career in the Montgomery County and Anne Arundel County school systems in Maryland before moving to the Eastern Shore and settling in Snow Hill to raise her family. She taught there for many years, first as an elementary school teacher and later at the Snow Hill Christian Nursery School.
She found her teaching days happy and rewarding, but her most important priorities were God, family, and friends, in that order. Her greatest pleasure was being a mom and grandma.
Pat was also active in her church and community. She taught religious education classes for several years and then became the Director of Religious Education at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Pocomoke City, MD. She served as a Eucharistic Minister for many years and found it most rewarding.
She was vice president of the Pocomoke River Garden Club for two years and then president for two additional years. She was also a Board member for the Institute of Retired Persons at Salisbury University in Salisbury, MD.
Pat moved to Pennsylvania in 2005 and lived in the Traditions at Skippack Community where she considered all of her neighbors her friends. She was a member of St. Eleanor Catholic Church of Collegeville.
Pat is survived by her son, Matthew (Kathleen) Aaron of Collegeville; daughter, Laura (Michael) Connor of Collegeville; five grandchildren, Katharine, Brian, Sophie, Joseph (Brad), and Paul. She is also survived by sisters-in-law and many nieces, nephews, and other loving family members.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 6, 2023 at 11:30 AM at St. Eleanor Catholic Church, 647 Locust St., Collegeville, PA 19426. Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Friday morning from 10:30 AM to 11:15 AM at the Church.
Interment will take place on Tuesday, January 10 at 2:00 PM in Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery, 6827 E. New Market Ellwood Rd, Hurlock, MD 21643.
