Jimmy M. Barker  

Jimmy M. Barker, 91, of Audubon, PA passed away Saturday, January 27, 2024. 

He was born in Perry, OK on October 27, 1932, the son of the late Millard Elmer and Alta Louise (Arnold) Barker.

Jimmy most recently lived at Shannondell in Audubon, PA, and formerly resided in Elverson PA, Marietta OH, Orange TX, Sulphur LA, and Perry OK.

He graduated with a BA degree in Business Administration from the University of Southwest Louisiana.  He later obtained his MBA from Lamar University in Beaumont, TX.

Jimmy worked more than 45 years for Chevron Chemical and was Director of Human Resources when he retired. After retiring from Chevron, he served as Township Supervisor for Warwick Township in Elverson, PA for 8 years.  

In his spare time he played tennis and golf, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, carpentry and traveling.  

Jim and his wife Myrna (Mimi) were true friends of France and traveled there numerous times throughout their 70 years of marriage.  As a gift to each grandchild, they took each one individually to France to learn about the country and its culture.  They would tour for at least two weeks which led to many memorable events and stories.  They made several other trips to France as well and made wonderful lifelong friends there.

Survivors include wife Myrna Barker of Audubon, PA, son James (Connie) Barker of Mansfield, TX, daughter Kim (Joe) Bresnan of Phoenixville, PA, daughter-in-law Rena Barker of Hallsville, TX, and is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by son Jeff Barker, great-grand-daughter Callie Barker, sister Frances Gish, and brothers Fritz Barker and Robert Barker.

His graveside service and Interment will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South, Sulphur, LA.  The date is to be announced.
