Obituary of Theodore C. Wills, Sr.

Theodore Charles Wills, Sr., "Ted", 85, of Frederick, PA passed away peacefully July 20, 2017, following a long illness. He was born on May 11, 1932 in Middletown Twp., Bucks Co., PA, the son of Theodore A. Wills and Mary C. (Dixon) Wills.
Following his graduation from Schwenksville High School in 1950, Mr. Wills went on to graduate from the Philadelphia Wireless Institute. He was proud to be a veteran of the U.S. Navy, where he served on a destroyer. He began his career as a plumber, and went on to become a mechanical contractor. He was the owner of T.C. Wills Co. Inc., and was also the founder and owner of Anchor Fire Protection Co. He was in business for 45 years until his retirement.
He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and all-around adventurer. He owned a sport fishing boat, the Pipe Dream, out of Cape May, NJ. He ran fishing charters, and participated in and won many fishing tournaments over the years. He loved to travel with his wife and friends. He was active in many organizations, including Ducks Unlimited, the National Rifle Association, Paradise Valley Hunting Club, Mumbauersville Gun Club, the Cape May Marlin and Tuna Club, and Associated Builders and Contractors. In his retirement, he became an avid woodworker and had a talent for making furniture and smaller pieces for family and friends.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Mary Teresa (Miller) Wills, who was his high school sweetheart. He is also survived by four children, Theodore Wills, Jr. (Debbie) of Perkiomenville, Marylou Lee of Frederick, Jill Stevens (Howard) of Allentown, and Jayne Oyler (Jeffrey) of Schwenksville; a son-in-law, Kevin "Pete" Ochse; ten grandchildren, Theodore Wills III (Diana), Meaghen Wills, Jessica Giuricich (Jody), Erin McCarthy, David Lee, Marshall Stevens, Morgan Stevens, Sydney Stevens, Annabelle Oyler, and Ava Oyler; three great-grandchildren, Carmella Giuricich, Oswald Giuricich, and Violet Wills; and best friend, Richard Mattaliano, who was always like a son to him.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Nancy Ochse (Kevin), and a granddaughter Chloe Oyler, and his sisters, Elizabeth McCotter, Molly Christman, and Audrey Wills.
He loved his wife, children, and family dearly, and they loved him dearly. Despite his success, he was always humble and knew the value of hard work. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, quiet generosity, and ability to make friends wherever he went. He will be dearly missed.
The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 40 Spring Mount Road, Schwenksville, from 10:00 – 11:30, with a funeral mass beginning at 11:30, and interment following at Limerick Garden of Memories. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , or the Gary Sinise Foundation, which benefits military personnel and first responders.
