Was a neighbor during the early 70's. I remember Mrs. Bonner singing by an open window as she did the dishes for a family of 10 children! She had a beautiful voice and we would enjoy her music! I miss those days as a child. I remember Joe Jr. He was my boy Scout troop leader when we had troop 117 meeting at Grady Hall at Epiphany of our Lord. My condolences for the loss of father and son. I hope I am not confusing Mrs. Bonner with Mrs. Keen who lived there before the Bonners.Oh yes, I remember the Bonners were nice enough to let the neighborhood kids to use their front yard as a winter sled riding playground. Thanks for the precious memories!

Prayers and condolences for the Bonner Family. It was interesting for me to read Mr. Bonner’s obituary and realize I knew it all, and not only that I can remember Mr. Bonner telling stories about Korea, how to save gas by rolling down hill in an Army truck, in neutral with the engine turned off. And stories of Roman Catholic too that involved putting on boxing gloves to box priests in the basement. I hope I remember correctly. I identify Mr. Bonner with Univac, and VW buses, and mostly that he was the Bonner’s dad, and my mother’s neighbor for over 50 years, so a constant for the past half century as an important person. Mr. Bonner always asked me how my mother was doing each time I saw him over the dedades since my own father passed away in 1980. He did the same the last time I saw him just a few months ago. Mr. Joseph Bonner lived a full life. God bless.
