Obituary of Herbert J. White

Herb has been living in Conshohocken for 34 years, formerly of Wynnewood and Narberth. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Fairview Village. Herb graduated as Outstanding Student in Math from White Plains, New York Community College in 1951. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from The City College of New York in 1960 with a Bachelor of Engineering Degree. He graduated from New York University in 1962 with a Master of Engineering Degree. Herb was a Product Design Engineer developing Geiger Counters and other nuclear equipment with Electronic Products Co. of Mt. Vernon, NY from 1950-1960. He then went on to work as a Member of Technical Staff developing Electronic Switching Systems with the Bell Telephone Labs in Homdel, NJ from 1960-1966. Herb then joined Unisys of Blue Bell in 1966 working as a Senior Staff Engineer developing various electronic equipment and systems until his retirement in 1993. During his career, Herb was the sole inventor on three patents, had several techinical papers published, presented techincal papers at several technical conferences, and presented a technical paper on the Illiac IV Super Computer at hte First Joint USA - Japan Computer Conference in Tokyo, Japan in 1972.
