Obituary of Hazel R. Wood

Hazel Wood of Norristown, died Friday May 3, 2013, at Towne Manor West of Norristown. She was 97. She was born in Conshohocken, Pa., on December 12, 1915, daughter of the late Craig Y. and Helen F. (Scanlin) Rigg. She was a lifelong member of Conshohocken United Methodist Church, where she was a member of Kill Kare Klub, and former choir member. She was a 1932 graduate of the former Conshohocken High School. She was a homemaker most of her life and worked as a hairdresser in Highland Park, Pa., in 1930's. She enjoyed cooking, baking, knitting, and helping other people. Surviving are her son, Craig R. Wood of Painters Crossing, Pa.; her daughter, Dianne Warner of East Norriton; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Ellsworth B. Wood. Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2013, at the Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 300 Fayette St., Conshohocken, PA 19428. The Rev. Ricky Ayala will officiate. Friends may call on Thursday morning from 9:00-10:00 A.M. at the Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 300 Fayette Street Conshohocken, Pa. Interment will be in Gulph Christian Cemetery, West Conshohocken, Pa.
