Obituary of Patricia R. Cooper

Patricia R. Cloud Weand Rex Cooper, age 80 of Trappe, PA, died Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at her home. Wife of Roy S. Cooper and the late William S. Rex. Born in Norristown, PA on April 18, 1933, daughter of the late Helen (Cloud) and Melvin Weand. She graduated from the AD Eisenhower High School, class of 1951. She was a birth rite member of the Religious Society of Friends. Patricia was a homemaker most of her life, She also worked for the former Robert J. Snyder Jewelry Store in Norristown, Pa and the former Pre School of the Reformed Church of the Ascension in West Norriton. She enjoyed golf, gardening, sailing on the Chesapeake, aerobics, counted cross stitch, yoga, reading, and walking. She, with her mother and sister founded the Rittenhouse Quester Chapter 252. She started the West Norriton Ladies Golf League, She was a former member of the West Norriton Women's Club, Seekers Book Club, The Women of Worcester Golf Club, Member of Montgomery County Historical Society & Trappe Historical Society & a former member of Norristown Parents Club as well as The Carousel Dance Club and the Red Hatters. She was also Judge of Elections in West Norriton for many years. Patricia spent her winters in Naples, Florida where she was a member of High Point Ladies Golf League, & The Entre Novs Dance Club. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Linda Rex (& son-in law) Richard Groves East Coventry, PA; son, Bradford Weand Rex of Petaluma California; grandson, Ricky Rex Groves; step daughter, Valerie (& Gerald) Coppola; step son, Darryl Cooper. Also survived by 5 step grandsons Jared, Jordan, Sam, Trevor & Jake. Along with her parents and first husband she was preceded in death by a sister Jean Weand Cable. Her Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at :00 P.M. from Gwynedd Friends Meeting, 1101 DeKalb Pike & Sumneytown Pike, Gwynedd. All are invited to reflect on Patty's life at the service. Interment will be private in Gwynedd Meeting Cemetery.
