Obituary of Helen G. Santangelo

Helen G. (Griffiths) Santangelo of Conshohocken, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at Brightview Senior Living in East Norriton. She was 96. A lifelong Conshohocken resident, Helen was the wife of the late Paul Santangelo. She was a retired Vault Teller of over 25 years with the former Philadelphia Nation Bank (now Wells Fargo Bank) of Conshohocken. Born in Conshohocken on October 16, 1915, she was a daughter of the late George G. and Grace E. (Murray) Griffiths. She was a member of the Conshohocken United Methodist Church and was a member of the church choir for 70 years. She was also a volunteer at the gift shop at Mercy Suburban Hospital and she was a member of the Conshohocken Community Elders. Helen enjoyed cooking, baking, knitting, crossword puzzles, gardening, sewing and quilting. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends. Helen is survived by a grandson, Jeffrey S. (Lynn) Wallace of Plymouth Meeting; step great grandchildren, Faith and Steven Mohnke; granddaughter, Jennifer (Thomas) Alba of Downingtown; great grandchildren, Luke, Jesse and Isabella Alba; step daughter, Vita Lou (Sonny) Gregory of Conshohocken. Also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews. Helen was preceded in death by her son, Donald G. Wallace; great granddaughter, Hayley Rose Alba; and stepson, Harry Santangelo. A Memorial Funeral Mass for Helen will be held Monday, July 9th at 11 a.m. from the Conshohocken United Methodist Church, Sixth and Fayette Street, Conshohocken with Pastor Ricky Ayala officiating. Friends may call Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Interment Gulph Christian Cemetery, West Conshohocken.
