Obituary of Barbara A. Conicello
Barbara A. Conicello, (nee Koscuisko), 71, from the Cedar Heights section of Whitemarsh Township died October 27, 2012 during a house fire at her residence. Mrs. Conicello, a proud mother of 10 children, was born on June 26, 1941 in Detroit, MI. She grew up in Upper Darby, Pa. and graduated from West Catholic Girls High School in West Philadelphia. She worked briefly at the former Bell Telephone Company before leaving to start a family. Most recently, she lovingly cared for her grandchildren full time until they reached school age.
Mrs. Conicello is survived by her devoted husband of 50 years, James A. Conicello. Married in St. Laurence Church, Upper Darby in 1962, the two celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary this past September 29th at a dinner party surrounded by their family. She was a natural mother and wife, selfless with the care she gave her husband, each of her children and her grandchildren. Everyone whoever met her felt her greatest accomplishment was being a mother, raising all of her children with her husband in a loving home, amidst many obstacles. She never met a child that she did not want to hold, and was happiest in a rocking chair, lulling a baby to sleep. She was also an avid reader and was always surrounded by books. A life long member of SS Cosmas & Damian Church, she had a great faith which she exemplified in her devotion to the Blessed Mother and adoration of Pope John Paul, II. She also cherished her cat, Hannah, who perished with her in the fire.
In addition to her husband she is survived by nine children; Michael (Su) of East Norriton, Christopher (Laurie) of Plymouth Meeting, Mary Bracy (Edward) of King of Prussia, Barbara Lynch (Jeffrey) of Plymouth Meeting, Laura (Dan) of Norristown, Susannah, Nicholas & Rebecca (John), all of Conshohocken and Daniel of Bridgeport. She was also the loving "Gammy" to her eight grandchildren, Christopher, Gabriel & Roman Conicello, Adrianna & Joshua Lynch, Chelsea & Randy Bracy and Autumn Rose Bobo. She is also survived by one sister, Stella Bates of Havertown and three brothers, John Koscuisko of Upper Darby, Michael Koscuisko of Berry, AL and Leon Koscuisko (Joan) of Glendale AZ and two brothers in law, Gerry Conicello (Jane) of West Conshohocken and Dominic Conicello (Peggy) of Wayne and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased in death by her eldest son James, Jr., her parents Leo & Sophie (Wasilewski) Koscuisko and father & mother in law Dominic & Hannah Elizabeth (Webster) Conicello.
