Like Aunt Helen and Uncle Jesse, Victoria amazed me with her beauitiful faith, unconditional love for all, never seeking retribution but rather forgiveness again and again for all who hurt her, especially those whom she loved so dearly. So amazing, she, no matter how she suffered, which I often compared to Job's suffering in the Old Testament of the Bible, she never lost her sense of humor. No matter how poor she was, she still sent me the most amazing gifts, reminding me of St. Paul stating that love is generous, love is kind.... One of the times she was dying and in the hospital for weeks and weeks while they tried to save her, she had a terribly itchy rash all over from an allergic medicine reaction also with that hospital contageous disease along with it, I would arrive on Monday and leave on Wednesday, every week. When she was suffering terribly, her nurses would say to her, "Your mom will be here soon." When I came, bringing foods she likes, sometimes she could eat them, most times not. But we would talk about old times, watch Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, and the hospital was wonderful, had a couch/bed so I could sleep in her private room. All the staff was wonderful to me and the doctors were honest and willing to give me details about her condition. It is really unprecedented as far as I have experienced for hospital doctors and staff to try so hard to save her. I spoke to her the day she died and she told me she was having terrible pain in her chest and I told her to push the button for the nurse immediately. She did and died soon after that. When I spoke with the nurse at the hospital who knew me, she told me, "Barbara, we did everything we could, like we did all the other times to bring her back, but this time they didn't work." Do I believe Victoria is in heaven...I do. Why? When she was alive, my Mom and Pop would come to her in dreams from heaven many times, encouraging her, and one time my Mom told her to just give in, stop suffering and come to be with us. But, Victoria, told her, "Gran,I am not ready...I want to live...I have things I want to do when I get better." How valiantly she fought to live. None of the doctors understand how she could hang on, but she did. My best friend is a healer and one time a year or so before she died, when I was visiting, I took her to my friend for Christmas, making sure she was not alone on a holiday she loved, and my friend told me, "Barbara, she has nothing viable enough for me to work on." We went to her relatives for dinner, but Victoria was not strong enough to go, so we came back as quickly as we could. Again, she couldn't eat much.
I speak with her daily, letting her know how much she is loved and pray for her, even though I believe she is already in heaven...knowing if I am incorrect those prayers will reach her as a holy soul in Purgatory or, if I am correct, those prayers will help another holy soul still in Purgatory.
If you are Roman Catholic as our family is, and you want to say a prayer that can release 1,000 souls from Purgatory, say this prayer to St. Gertrude: "Eternal Father, I offer thee, through the precious blood of Your Divine Son, Jesus, in union with all the Masses said throughout the world today for all the Holy Souls in Purgatory, all sinners everywhere, sinners in the universal church, and sinners in my home and in my family. Amen"

It is an amazing thing to be the friend of a Saint, but I had that privilege because Victoria was my friend, and Victoria was, indeed, a Saint. The crosses she carried would have broken the back, or, certainly the spirit of practically anyone else. But she prayed her way through with her extraordinary devotion to
“ Perpetual Adoration”, which she introduced me to, changing my life for the better forever. I have had a very complicated medical history, but, even when I moved from this area for many years, she stayed in touch by text or phone always offering prayers for my various maladies. And now I know she offers her prayers directly to yhe Face of God.

Vicky was my first cousin. My only memories of her are when we were little girls playing at my grandmother's house. She was always laughing and always kind to me. I admit, I was not a part of her life growing up, for our paths went in different directions but, I was aware of the end of her life. It makes my heart glad to know that she had a faith in God and his son Jesus. I believe that Vicky is in heaven, has been given a new body. For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. 2 Corinthians 5:1 There are no more tears and no more pain for this beautiful soul. Your on my list of people I need to hug when I get to heaven...

from Great-Uncle, Rev. Jesse Fisher
“Wonderful savior, wonderful friend, wonderful love that never will end.
Wonderful home he has gone to prepare. Wonder of wonders, I shall be there.”
We have lived with Victoria, by phone, and talked with her about her good times and her not so good times. She never was looking for pity or attention when she called, just prayers. We need to be blended as a whole family unit and by God’s grace it will be so. When God calls us, we will not say, “I am not ready.” We will be with him and leave all this behind. My wife and I have told her many times, “God loves you,Victoria, and His love is everlasting.” She is now with God and her pain and sorrow are left behind. There is only joy in the presence of God.
What a fellowship! What a joy divine, leaning on the everlasting arms of the Father.
from Great-Aunt, Helen Fisher
Victoria called often and was very positive, despite her serious illness. We often spoke of her wonderful love for God. This summer, I was with mother, Barbara Garro, in Saratoga Springs, New York, while Victoria endured two amputation surgeries in Pennsylvania. We attended mass every day to pray for Victoria. I heard her mother request prayers and pray to God to help heal her daughter’s body. Victoria was in great pain when she called. She said the medicine didn't touch her pain. I told her Jesus was walking with her through her pain and she didn't have to have two legs to walk into heaven. She believed me and calmed.
“What a friend we have in Jesus, our sins and grief to bear, what a privilege
to carry everything to God in prayer.”
I see God’s hand reaching down to Victoria, as she is reaching up to God’s hand. Let us think of her now, not in pain, but with Jesus in Heaven. Praise his holy name, Hallelujah.

From second cousin, Jean Carl
At Vicky’s grandmother’s funeral, the priest asked if anyone wanted to get up and speak. Vicky, stood up and said:
“Grandmom loved me. she loved me no matter what. She taught me many things that I will always remember, like this prayer: God grant me the serenity to accept
the things I cannot change, The courage to change the things I can, And the wisdom to know the difference.”
I turned to Vicky’s mother and said, “Wow, that was wonderful, She was so brave to stand up and do that, you must be proud.”
I rarely ever saw Vicky during her adult life, just at a very few events and by exchanging notes in Christmas cards. I only started visiting her in the hospital the last few weeks of her life. I happened to be with her when she died. That very small bit of connection we had, leading up to her life’s end, showed me how truly brave a girl she was. She bravely faced her illness, her pain, her amputations, and finally her death. She never forgot the serenity prayer her grandmother taught her so long ago. She lived and died by it.
