Obituary of Joseph J. Makatche

Joseph J. Makatche, Jr., “Jay”, age 68, of Lansdowne, passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2019.

Born in Darby, PA on November 7, 1950, a son of the late Joseph J. and Catherine M. (Griffin) Makatche. Jay has been living in Lansdowne for 20 years, formerly of Aldan and Yeadon, PA. He was the former owner of Dougherty Body Shop, bartender and security guard. In his free time he enjoyed exploring the outdoors and metal detecting.

Survivors include his son, Daniel J. (Mary Beth) Makatche of Conshohocken, PA and daughter, Nancy E. (Mike) Frederick of Bethlehem, PA; siblings: John (Kay) Makatche, Richard (Lola) Makatche, Wayne (the late Deidre) Makatche, MaryKay (Barry) Cunningham, Michael Makatche and Lillian (David) Mann; as well as five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, January 27 at 2:00 PM at the Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 300 Fayette St., Conshohocken, PA 19428. Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation on Sunday afternoon from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
