Obituary of James P. Shields

James P. Shields  

 

James P. Shields72, of Collegeville, PA passed away Sunday, September 8, 2019.

 

He was born in Philadelphia, Pa on August 21, 1947the son of  Edward J. and Winifred C. (Dwyer) Shields.

 

He has been living in Collegeville, Pa for the last 12 years, formerly of Plymouth Twp., Pa.

 

James graduated from Bishop McDevitt High School and Temple University.

 

He served in combat as a member of the US Navy during the Vietnam War.

 

James was a former member of St. James Episcopal Church of Collegeville, Pa and St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Lafayette Hill, Pa.

 

He was a Computer Engineer with PECO for 30 years, then with Rumsey Electric of Conshohocken, Pa.

 

He was the beloved husband of 46 years with the late Christine (Schmidt) Shields.

 

Survivors include Son Brian C. (& Denisse Caminero) Shields of Boca Raton, Daughter Christine (& Bob) Murphy of Collegeville, Brother Edward (& Patricia) Shields of Oreland, Brother Michael (& Christina) Shields of Oreland, Sister Judith (& Don Curren) Shields of Conshohocken, Sister Winkie (& Tom) Vander Neut of Norristown, and 

2 Grandchildren, Gavin J. Murphy & Madison A. Murphy.

 

His Memorial Service will be held Monday, September 16, 2019 at 10:00 AM from Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 19 East Germantown PikeEast NorritonPA.

 

Friends may call on Monday, September 16, 2019 from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at funeral home.

 

Interment will follow in George Washington Memorial Park, Plymouth Meeting, Pa.
