Obituary of Mary M. Dougherty

Mary M. Dougherty, age 94, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2019 at the Souderton Mennonite Home.

She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Dougherty for 58 years until his passing in 2007.

Born in Philadelphia, PA on December 19, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Margaret (Nophut) Schmitt. She graduated from John W. Hallahan Catholic Girl's High School. 

Mary and Joseph moved to Skippack in the early 1960s and lived in a second floor apartment of an old school house above her sister and brother-in-law. She retired from Merck and was a faithful member of Saint Eleanor RC Church of Collegeville, where she was active in the Saint Vincent dePaul Society. Mary was a dog lover, enjoyed traveling the world, and spending time on Long Beach Island.  

She is survived by nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.  

Her Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at 10:00 AM in St. Eleanor RC Church, 647 Locust St., Collegeville, PA 19426.  Friends may call on Thursday morning from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM at the Church.

Interment will be private in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Philadelphia.
