John F.. Kontra, Sr.  

John F.. Kontra, Sr., 82, of Conshohocken, PA passed away Sunday, October 20, 2019.

He was born in Swedeland, Pa on January 9, 1937, the son of the late Michael and the late Rose ( Raymond ) Kontra.

John has lived in Conshohocken, Pa for the last 53 years, formerly of Swedeland, Pa where he was born and raised.

He served with the US Marine Corp.  He worked as a steel worker.

John enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing.

He was the husband of the late Late - Geraldine ( Delliponti ) Kontra.

Survivors include Daughter Lisa Whitley of Conshohocken, Son John F. (& Ann) Kontra, Jr. of Harvey's Lake, Brother Walter Kontra of Upper Merion, Brother Francis Kontra of Upper Merion, Sister Emma Zimmerman of Evansburg, Sister Patricia Kontra of Swedeland, Sister Rose Murphy of Montgomery County, In Laws Andrew & Jean Delliponti of Conshohocken. Also survived by 4 Grandchildren Jeffrey Whitley, Jessica Kontra, Hannah Fontarees & Elliana Kontra, and a Great Granddaughter Sophia Bowe, also survived by many Nieces & Nephews.

Along with his wife and parents he was preceded in death by a brother Michael Kontra and a sister Anna Mae Williams.

His Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, October 24, 2019 at 10:30 AM from St. Matthew's RC Church, 219 Fayette Street, Conshohocken, PA.

Friends may call on Thursday, October 24, 2019 from 9:30 to 10:15 AM at the church.  

Interment will take place in St. Matthew's Cemetery, Conshohocken, PA.
