Obituary of Turp Foelker

Harley "Turp" Foelker, age 87, of Lansdale, PA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at his home.

He was born in Norristown, PA on October 6, 1932, the son of the late Alfred and Ellen (Krier) Foelker.

Turp has been living in Lansdale for seven years and was a former longtime resident of East Norriton.  He attended Lansdale United Methodist Church.  

Turp was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a member of the American Legion Post 0018 of Claymont, DE.  Turp was a true sports enthusiast and played independent baseball after high school.  He loved spending time golfing and was a golf member of the former Center Square Golf Club.  Turp was also a PIAA basketball referee.  He was also a member of the Sesquin Dye-hyards of Norristown PA.  He had a long career working for the Railroad for over 30 years until he retired in 1994.  He was a loyal and loving father and husband.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Helen P. (Kennedy) Foelker of Lansdale; daughter, Phyllis (& Daniel) Bowers of Perkiomenville; and two grandsons, James & Colin Bowers.

Along with his parents, Turp was preceded in death by two sons, Brian D. Foelker and Scott J. Foelker; and brother, George Foelker.  

Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Saturday, February 29, 2020 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 19 E. Germantown Pike, East Norriton, PA 19401.  The Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 AM.
