Obituary of Josephine Irene DeRose

Josephine Irene DeRose, age 92, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2020.

She was born in Philadelphia, PA, the daughter of the late Frank and Helen (Swiderska) Mackiewicz.

Josephine has been a resident of Providence Place at the Collegeville Inn for six months, formerly of Voorhees, NJ.  She was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. Andrew the Apostle in Gibbsboro, NJ.  Josephine enjoyed playing pinochle and was active in senior citizen groups.  Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.   

She was the wife of the late Eugene F. DeRose.

Survivors include two daughters, Susan Halloran and Janice Hunsberger, both of Norristown; as well as her grandchildren, Christine Hunsberger (& Caitlin Smith), Michael C. Hunsberger and Cody "Chord" Hunsberger.  

Along with her husband and parents, Josephine was preceded in death by her son in law, Michael W. Hunsberger and her sister, Helen Busch.  

Due to present public health concerns, services will be delayed.  

Interment will take place in New Saint Mary's Cemetery, Bellmawr, NJ.
