Obituary of Marion S. Lukens

Marion S. Lukens  

Marion S. ( Sabol ) Lukens, 89, of Limerick, PA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 surrounded by her family. 

She was born in Swedeland, PA on February 10, 1933, the daughter of the late Andrew and the late Susan (Kuznar) Sabol.

She was the wife of the late - Alan W. "Sid" Lukens and they would have celebrated 70 years of marriage this coming April.  They raised their family in East Norriton, PA before retiring to Orlando, FL, where they enjoyed golfing and playing tennis for over 20 years.  Trips to Disney when family visited were a special time for them.  They lived in Limerick, PA for 18 years and were members of St. Teresa of Calcutta RC Church.  Marion was a woman whose strong faith guided her through her entire life.

Marion graduated from Upper Merion High School where she excelled in sports.   She volunteered as a basketball and volleyball coach for Visitation Parish.  She loved to golf and play tennis.   Marion was a homemaker, worked as a part time office worker and volunteered at Sacred Heart Hospital in Norristown.

Marion and Sid loved to travel and over the years managed to visit every state in the US.  They enjoyed many trips with Marion's sisters, Fran and Eleanor and their husbands, Whitey and Murph.

Survivors include, Daughter Beth (& The Late Tom) Patterson of Limerick, PA, Son Alan (& Catherine) Lukens, Jr. of Lansdale, PA, Son Thomas (& Carmelline) Lukens of Royersford, PA, Daughter Donna (& Jim) Booz of Collegeville, PA.  She is also survived by her Sister, Eleanor Colliluori, her Grandchildren Eric, Heather, Katie, Thomas, Lauren, Michael, Samantha and Taylor, and Great Grandchildren Camryn, Declan, Kade, Maura, Evan, Jonathon, and Luke.

Along with her husband and parents, Marion was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.  She is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Her Memorial Mass will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at 11:00 AM from St. Teresa of Calcutta RC Church, 256 Swamp Pike, Schwenksville, PA.

Friends may call on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the church.

Burial will be private at a later date in Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken, PA. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions  may be made in her memory to Leukemia & Lymphoma Society - 3 International Drive, Suite 200, Rye Brook, NY 10573.
