Obituary of Rodger C. Wichterman

Rodger C. Wichterman

Rodger C. Wichterman, 82, of Plymouth Meeting, PA passed away Saturday, November 18, 2023. He was born in Philadelphia, Pa on November 26, 1940, the son of the late Lester and Eleanor (Aukett) Wichterman.

Rodger graduated from The William Penn Charter School where he was a member of the soccer team. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Lehigh University. Upon graduation, he served his country for six years in the Army Reserves while simultaneously starting his career as a CPA with Pricewaterhouse. He was the CFO for Conversion Systems in Philadelphia before opening his own outplacement consultant business.  He ended his career offering his many years of experience as an independent business consultant to various companies.

Rodger was a gregarious and generous man who was larger than life. He made friends wherever he went and was loyal to each one.  His passions included playing golf, fishing, dinner at Phil’s Tavern and embracing loved ones with great, big, bone-crushing hugs.  His grandchildren were his greatest pride and joy. He never missed a chance to support them in what they loved.  He could always be found cheering loudly on baseball, softball, lacrosse and field hockey fields, as well as in gymnasiums watching basketball games and gymnastic meets.

Rodger is the beloved husband of Ellen (Krimins) Wichterman of Plymouth Meeting, Pa; loving father of daughter Elizabeth (Luciano) Patruno of Conshohocken, Pa, son Christian (Amy) Wichterman of Garnet Valley, Pa, and step son Eric Ziker of Eagleville, Pa; treasured Pop-Pop of grandchildren Edward and Annie Patruno, Jacob, Norah and William Wichterman. He is also survived by his sister Lynn W. Mollberg of Tampa, Fl.

His memorial service will be held Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 300 Fayette Street, Conshohocken, PA.  Rabbi Gregory Marx and Rabbi Jason Bonder will officiate.

Friends may call from 10:00 to 10:45 AM at the funeral home. The family will observe shiva immediately following the memorial service until 9:00 PM at the home of Beth and Luciano Patruno.
