Obituary of William J. McTamney

William J. McTamney, age 73, of Jeffersonville, PA passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024.

 

He was born in Philadelphia, PA on February 1, 1951, the son of the late Daniel J. and Loretta (Bradley) McTamney.  

   

Bill was a resident of Lafayette Hill for 48 years before moving to Jeffersonville, where he has lived for one year.  He was a parishioner of St. Philip Neri RC Church of Lafayette Hill.   Prior to his retirement, he worked as a Steamfitter with Local 420. 

 

Bill enjoyed trips to his cabin in Dushore, PA and spending winters in Delray Beach, FL.  In his younger years, he enjoyed boating and playing softball.  He was a car enthusiast and a history buff. 

 

He is survived by his wife, Joanne McTamney (née Sirchio) of Jeffersonville; two daughters, Megan (Chris) Roy of Collegeville and Beth (Jay) Vasil of King of Prussia; two brothers, Joseph (Susan) McTamney of Skippack and Joseph (Patricia) Dempsey of Conshohocken; two sisters, Elizabeth Wassel of New York and Loretta Krebel of Rhode Island; six grandchildren, Sean (Megan), Daniel (Kiera), Kevin (Anthony), Aiden, Darcy and Jake; as well as many nieces and nephews. 

 

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Carolyn Lawn, Daniel McTamney and David McTamney. 

 

His Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at 10:30 AM from St. Philip Neri RC Church, 437 Ridge Pike, Lafayette Hill, PA 19444.  Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Wednesday morning from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM at the Church.

 

Interment will be private at a later date in St. Matthew's Cemetery, Conshohocken, PA.
