I moved from Texas back to Pennsylvania in 7th grade and was so scared because everyone was established as far as “the circle of friends” goes. I was the outsider but Amanda noticed me, recruited me, and introduced me to what would turn out to be some of the BEST of my teenage years. Fast pitch softball, I’d never heard of, but soon I’d fall in love. The first pitch went by and I never saw it, but we laughed... ok they laughed at me, however I stayed in there and quickly got the hang of it and next thing I knew, we were traveling the country playing the sport I’d fall in love with and we were one of the “BEST” .Nationals we’d go and we’d leave our mark. Had it not been for Amanda, I cannot say I would have even seen that first scary pitch or stuck around to see the second, third, and probably hundredth. I cannot say how grateful I am to have been moved to such an uncomfortable atmosphere at such an age where the groups of friends had been established, yet she took the time to take a second look at me, accept me
(maybe because of my size) and allow me to be a part of what again, was some of he best of my growing years, which I speak of quite often, and allow me to be able to share those moments with her. I will forever be indebted to you Amanda, for introducing me to the experience of a lifetime, that without you paying attention to the new kid, I would have absolutely missed. Although over the years I may have liked some photos on Facebook, I have LOVED all the memories that were made and they were all because of you. I pray God holds his hands over your husband and children and allows them to have the best life you could ever wish them to have. I know your BEAUTIFUL spirit will ALWAYS be shining upon them and you will FOREVER be in ALL of our hearts. May you Rest In Peace precious angel!

Dear Dan,
Words cannot describe the pain I feel for you and your family. Amanda was truly one of a kind. The first time I met her, we were instant friends. I knew right away that I loved her, & she was perfect for you. I will always remember the long conversations I had with her on your old front porch. It felt like we had been friends forever. I am so saddened by your loss, but I’m glad Amanda is at peace. Sending lots of love to you, Evan, Dylan, Stella, and Sheba.
Love,
Mel

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Amanda for 8 years. She was an amazing person and teacher. She always had her students best interest at heart and was an advocate for their needs. She was an important member of Taylor and will be deeply missed by our entire community. My family is sending thoughts and prayers to your family.
