Obituary of Amanda A. Moher
Amanda A. ( Watters ) Moher, of Lafayette Hill, Pa, passed away on Thursday June 13, 2019 at Temple University Hospital, after a heroic battle with breast cancer. She was 41 years old.
Amanda leaves her children Evan (3), Dylan (2), and Stella (2), and her husband Dan.
Amanda was born in Williamsport, Pa on Tuesday October 18, 1977, and moved to Worcester, Pa, in 1981. She is the daughter of Dr. Edmond Watters, III and Kathlene (Arnott) Watters. Amanda has two sisters, Nicole (Watters) DeHaut of Coatesville, Pa and her husband Michael DeHaut with their two children Quinn (7) and Owen (5), and Janelle Watters-Oliel of Paris, France and her husband Xavier Oliel with their two children Noa (16) and Lorenzo (12). In addition, she leaves behind Dan's parents Frank and Elayne Moher of Clark Summit, Pa, Dan's siblings Kevin and Kim Moher of Clark Summit, Pa and their children Caden and Rory, Chris and Tracey Moher of Downingtown, Pa and their children Emma, Matthew and Charlotte, and Tom and Jen Neugebauer of Ellicott City, MD and their son Connor (son of the late Cheryl Neugebauer, Dan's beloved sister).
She was a member of St. Philip Neri Church of Lafayette Hill, Pa.
Amanda attended Methacton area schools and graduated from Perkiomen School (Class of 1996) in Pennsburg, Pa and earned a Bachelor of Science in Education at Temple University (2005). She completed her Master's Degree at St. Joseph's University in Special Education (2010). She earned a Supervisory certification in Special Educcation Administration as well as an ESP (Educational Staff Professional) fromPenn State University - Abington. Amanda worked as a Special Education Teacher with the Philadelphia School District and gave so much love and care to all the children that were lucky enough to have her as their teacher. She was an advocate for the needs of each child under her care.
She met Dan, the love of her life, in 2006 and they were married in 2011 and lived together in Roxborough neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pa, and then moved to Lafayette Hill, Pa where theylived with their 3 beautiful children and their dog, Sheba. Amanda and Dan created a home filled with laughter, guidance, protection and love.
Amanda was a gifted teacher, wife, daughter, sister and friend who made a difference and brought love and joy to those around her. Her happiest moments were with Dan and Sheba at Chapman Lake. When Evan, Dylan and Stella came into the world, she loved nothing more than to be with them and surround them with love. Being a mother was her greatest joy ans her deepest pride.
Amanda is loved and will be remembered by so many. She will live forever in our hearts. We will keep her close, live for her and celebrate her life in each moment. And most importantly take care of her children.
There will be a visitation Friday Evening, June 21 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 300 Fayette Street, Conshohocken, Pa 19428.
Her Memorial Prayer Service will be held on Saturday, Jun 22 from 10:30 AM at St. Philip Neri RC Church 437 Ridge Pike , Lafayette Hill, Pa 19444.
In lieu of Flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Amanda's memory to: "Moher Children Education Fund" for Childcare and Education Fund for Evan Joseph Moher, Dylan MacInnes Moher & Stella Marshall Moher.
